I was recently diagnosed with high cholesterol and my doctor advised me to make changes to my diet. I've heard that olive oil can be beneficial, but I'm not sure how true it is or how to use it correctly. Is there anyone here with experience or knowledge on this topic?

It is rich in monounsaturated fats, which can help lower bad LDL cholesterol and increase good HDL cholesterol. I started using olive oil in salads after being asked Is olive oil good for you if you have high cholesterol? and for cooking after I was also diagnosed with high cholesterol and noticed an improvement in my test results.
